Celebrating Auckland Anniversary with preschoolers can be a fun and engaging experience!
Here are some ideas to make the day special:
1. Auckland-Themed Crafts
- Sky Tower Coloring Pages: Let the kids color pictures of the Sky Tower, Auckland’s iconic landmark. You can easily find printable coloring sheets online.
- Auckland’s Harbour and Boats Craft: Help the kids create simple boats using paper, markers, and crayons. You can talk about Auckland’s famous waterfront and harbour while crafting.
- Auckland’s Landscape Collage: Use coloured paper to create a collage of Auckland’s beautiful parks, beaches, and nature spots. Preschoolers can cut and paste shapes to form a scenic view.
2. Outdoor Activities: Auckland Parks and Gardens
- Take the children outdoors to a local park or playground, if possible. Talk about Auckland’s many green spaces and its natural beauty. Organize an obstacle course. Include simple games that mimic fun outdoor activities in Auckland. One example is a “an amazing race to the Sky Tower.”
3. Auckland Anniversary Party
- Host a small “Auckland Anniversary” party. Have cupcakes or a simple treat decorated with New Zealand icons like the harbour bridge or the Sky Tower.
4. Flash Cards of Auckland Landmarks
Print out pictures of the landmarks and discuss with children at small group activity sessions or mat time.
This Free template is a Tiny Book about the Auckland Anniversary. It does need slight assembly. Once it is completed, your preschooler will have their very own colouring and tracing mini book.
