As a preschool teacher, every day I’m reminded of the incredible joy, curiosity, and wonder that children bring into our lives.
That’s why Children’s Day is such a meaningful occasion — it’s a time dedicated entirely to celebrating the happiness, rights, and well-being of children everywhere.
In our classroom, we believe every child is special, and Children’s Day gives us the perfect opportunity to reflect that in a fun and heartfelt way.
What Is Children’s Day?
Children’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world, often on different dates, but the message is the same: to recognize the importance of children and promote their health, education, and happiness.
It’s a day to celebrate childhood and to remind ourselves how vital it is to protect and nurture the youngest members of our communities.
For preschoolers, it’s also a wonderful chance to feel seen, valued, and loved — something we strive to provide every single day in our classroom.

How to celebrate Children’s Day
Here are some of the simple, meaningful ways in celebrating:
- Kindness Circle Time: Start the day with a special circle time, where each child will hear something kind and special about themselves from their peers and teachers.
- Creative Art Stations: Having a themed art center where children can draw, paint, and create freely — expressing what makes them feel happy and proud.
- Children’s Day Dance Party: Music, dancing, and movement are always a hit! Turn up some upbeat tunes and have a mini dance party just for fun.
