What is the Hijri Calendar?
The Hijri calendar, also known as the Islamic calendar, is a lunar calendar used by Muslims worldwide.
It consists of 12 months, each with either 29 or 30 days, depending on the moon’s sighting.
Here are the 12 months of the Hijri calendar:
- Muharram
- Safar
- Rabi’ al-Awwal
- Rabi’ al-Thani
- Jumada al-Awwal
- Jumada al-Thani
- Rajab
- Sha’ban
- Ramadan
- Shawwal
- Dhul-Qi’dah
- Dhul-Hijjah
The Hijri calendar is based on the moon’s cycles. Therefore, it is shorter than the Gregorian calendar by about 10-12 days each year. This causes Islamic months to shift through the seasons over time.
This coloring page helps preschoolers learn about the month of Rajab while engaging in a fun and creative activity. It can be used as a worksheet after children are introduced to the Hijri months.
This worksheet helps preschoolers learn about the month of Rajab by identifying its name and number in the Hijri calendar.
It provides simple and easy-to-understand information for young children.
They can colour in the English and Arabic names of the month. The images of lanterns are also included for colouring.
