What is the Kaaba?
(Simple Explanation for Kids)
The Kaaba is a special building in Mecca.
It is:
- Shaped like a cube
- Covered in a black cloth called Kiswah
- A black stone called Hajar al-Aswad is in one of the corners
- A place Muslims face when they pray
Simple way to explain it to your child:
“The Kaaba is a special house that helps Muslims pray in the same direction.”

- We worship Allah, not the Kaaba
- The Kaaba helps Muslims stay united in prayer
- It was built by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS)
