What is the Kaaba?

(Simple Explanation for Kids)

The Kaaba is a special building in Mecca.

It is:

  • Shaped like a cube
  • Covered in a black cloth called Kiswah
  • A black stone called Hajar al-Aswad is in one of the corners
  • A place Muslims face when they pray

Simple way to explain it to your child:

โ€œThe Kaaba is a special house that helps Muslims pray in the same direction.โ€

Important Things to Teach Children

  • We worship Allah, not the Kaaba
  • The Kaaba helps Muslims stay united in prayer
  • It was built by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS)
